Mathbaria Upazila

Mathbaria (Bengali: মঠবাড়িয়া ) is an Upazila of Pirojpur District in the Division of Barisal, Bangladesh.

Geography

Mathbaria is located at . It has 48139 units of house hold and total area 353.25 km².

Demographics

As of the 1991 Bangladesh census, Mathbaria has a population of 253915. Males constitute are 50.13% of the population, and females 49.87%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 126024. Mathbaria has an average literacy rate of 45.9% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate.^[1]

Mathbaria has 11 Unions/Wards, 69 Mauzas/Mahallas, and 92 villages.
